Cashier

First Store Trading Company is looking for a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team! If you enjoy interacting with people and have a knack for providing excellent customer service, we encourage you to apply.

Core Responsibilities:

• Transaction Processing: This is the heart of the job. Accurately and efficiently scanning items, processing payments (cash, credit, debit, gift cards, etc.), and issuing receipts. This includes handling returns, exchanges, and price checks.
• Customer Interaction: Providing excellent customer service is key. Greeting customers, answering questions, resolving issues politely and professionally, and generally ensuring a positive shopping experience.
• Maintaining the Checkout Area: Keeping the workspace clean, organized, and well-stocked with bags, receipts, and other necessary supplies.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Bagging: Properly bagging groceries with attention to weight distribution, fragility of items, and customer preferences.
• Age Verification: Accurately checking IDs for age-restricted purchases (alcohol, tobacco, etc.).
• Loss Prevention: Being vigilant about potential shoplifting and following store procedures for handling suspicious activity.
• Store Support: May assist with tasks outside the checkout area, such as stocking shelves, facing products, or retrieving items for customers.

Responsibilities:

• Greet customers with a smile and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Scan and bag groceries accurately and efficiently.
• Process various forms of payment (cash, credit/debit cards, etc.).
• Redeem coupons and gift cards.
• Answer customer inquiries and resolve issues in a professional manner.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
• Assist with stocking shelves and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Basic math and cash handling skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Previous cashier experience is a plus.
